2012 Nissan Sentra

The 2012 Nissan Sentra is a four-door, five-passenger sedan that is not only attractive, it is a great choice for those that crave great fuel economy in a handsome, efficient package.

Safety features include front-impact and roof-mounted side-impact air bags. Standard convenience features include an AM/FM/CD audio system, air conditioning, tilt steering wheel, rear window defroster, variably intermittent windshield wipers, and power windows and door locks.

The 2.0 trim, which features a 140-horsepower, two-liter, four-cylinder engine. With

  front-wheel drive, power steering and a six-speed manual transmission, the 2.0 comes with antilock brakes and traction control system. A CVT transmission is optional. The 2.0 gets 24 miles per gallon in the city and 31 MPG on the highway, and has a 14.5-gallon fuel tank.

 

The 2.0 S trim includes everything the 2.0 has but is equipped with more convenience features. These features include 16-inch wheels, power outside mirrors, outside temperature display, remote keyless entry, illuminated cruise and audio controls mounted on the steering wheel, and a trip computer. The 2.0 S has a CVT transmission and an MPG rating of 27/34.

With a unique sport grille and side sill extensions, the 2.0 SR is a sporty version of the 2.0 S. The sportier styling features a smoked headlight surround and smoked taillights, and a chrome exhaust tip finisher. Fog lights and aluminum-alloy wheels are included.

The 2.0 SL builds on the 2.0 S, adding 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a keyless entry and ignition system, audio system with color display and satellite radio. Leather upholstery and heated front seats are optional. Mobile device features include Bluetooth® hands-free phone system and a USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices.

The SE-R and SE-R Spec V are Nissan’s sporty compact sedans. The SE-R is powered by a 177-horsepower, 2.5-liter engine and has a sport-tuned CVT transmission, sport-tuned springs, four-wheel disc brakes, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, twin pod meters with oil pressure and G-sensor displays. Listing at $20,120, it features paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel, front sport bucket seats with SE-R logos and
  aluminum pedal pads. The MPG rating is 24/30.

 

The SE-R Spec V has a 200-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine with a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission with dual-mass flywheel. It features sport-tuned suspension with lowered height, sport-tuned shocks and struts, a reinforced upper cowl and trunk-mounted V-brace, 12.6-inch front disc brakes and 11.5-inch rear disc brakes. Gas mileage for the SE-R Spec V is 21 in the city and 28 on the highway; premium gas is recommended.

A navigation system is optional on all Sentra sedans with the exception of the 2.0 S. A power moon roof is optional on all trims except for 2.0 and 2.0 S. A back-up camera is available for the 2.0 SL, SE-R and SE-R Spec V.
